Texas River of Life Deaf Retreat was held April 29th to May 2nd with 59 people in attendance.  The theme was 'Seek Him, Ask Him, Let Him' Psalm 51:10-12.  Everyone enjoyed this year's retreat, they said God showed up big time and touched many of them.  We all went home different, not the same way we came.   We enjoyed Rev. Jimmy Schwyhart's preaching and everyone is still saying, "So That!"   Dennis Davidson was the morning teacher and the music was lead and sang by several people and a choir.   One deaf man was saved, several filled with baptism of Holy Spirit and spoke in tongues, several healed from pain in feet and back and one woman healed from pain in knees.   One woman shared her testimony about her addiction to Vidicon and about going to Celebrate Recovery to help her.  Her testimony touched and helped another woman at the retreat who had been addicted to Vidicon but kept the addiction a secret for several years because was still was ashamed and embarrassed about it.   Those 2 women talked and it is no longer a secret, got it out and now has peace!  A hearing man came with his deaf wife (both first time to attend) and God told the man, "Deaf people feel rejected by the church.  I speak many, many languages including their language."   This helped him understand his wife's needs and the needs of the deaf people.  The same hearing man said that when the deaf were praying at the altar to receive the baptism of the Holy Spirit and speak in tongues he heard a loud 'roaring sound' like the sound heard  in Acts 2:2.

                Serving Him,
                Wendy Shaw. TRLDR Director

The NF Deaf Convention at Minneapolis, MN is around the corner. How exciting!
Again, I would like to say how much I appreciate the NF Host Team and volunteers for all of their time and hard labor in holding this convention. I know the countless, behind the scene, hours involved in preparation for a conference of this size. Again, I send a big THANK YOU to all these hard working committees!
As a NF member with A/G credentials, you should have received the 2010 NF membership card and NF Resolutions in the mail. Please bring both your membership card and resolution with you to the convention.
I’m looking forward to seeing what the Lord has in store for us during and after the 2010 NF Deaf Convention. Please, take every opportunity to visit the booths, Deaf Arts, missionaries, make new friends, and enjoy your stay in the wonderful city of Minneapolis!

March 6, 2010, Saturday we had "I Thirst for God, the Living God" Psalm 42:2 - Deaf Women workshop, from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Hosanna Church in Marrero, LA.

Nine of us, deaf women went out to eat at Ryan's for luncheon and fellowship. After luncheon, we all went back to Hosanna Church for Deaf Women workshop. What a wonderful time!

Regayna Rester led the worship service.

Cheryl Ragas shared the word, based on John 4:4-26: it is about a woman at the well. She wanted us to see how much we all can relate to her and we all thirst for the living water. Jesus is the Water of Life. What a time of encouragement - what a refreshing time for our souls.

Carla Miller led Q&As for all of us to share what we learned from the story of a woman at the well.

Regayna, Cheryl and Carla received positive feedbacks from six deaf ladies - they are very blessed and touched by the Holy Spirit. Thank you, Jesus!

The MADMR retreat in Halifax Pennsylvania was coordinated by Chris Hughes and supported by several local pastors, including; Byron Skidmore as treasurer.  Ken Bell was the special speaker for the weekend and did a terrific job ministering to the men.  His encouragement to Grow and Change was presented very well; and it was well received.

A special offering was taken on Saturday evening for Ken and Chris to give to local ministries in the Dominican Republic this summer.  Although the men paid for their registration and gave an offering, they still had plenty in their hearts to give an additional $600.00 toward this special project.  Way to go MADMR's.

Thank the Lord...Death toll low, but damage high.

CONCEPCION, Chile - Chileans fearful of aftershocks camped outside Sunday in towns shattered by a massive earthquake, as officials struggled to grasp the scale of damage to transport, energy and housing infrastructure.

One of the world's most powerful earthquakes in a century hammered Chile early Saturday, killing more than 300 people as it toppled buildings and triggered a tsunami that surged across the Pacific to as far as Japan and Russia.

While the apparently low death toll could be considered a lucky escape from such a strong temblor, the quake dealt a serious blow to infrastructure in one of Latin America's most stable economies.
