Integrity

Prov. 10:9 (NLT)
People with integrity walk safely, But those who follow crooked paths will slip and fall.

Solomon, the king of Israel, the son of David and Bathsheba, wrote this passage. He is called “wiser than all men” and is said to have authored three thousand proverbs and one thousand and five songs. His strengths were not on the battlefield, but in the realm of the mind: “meditation, planning, negotiation, and organization”.  (Note from NKJV)

Integrity = 1. Quality of being honest and having strong moral principles; moral upright

                  2. The state of being whole and undivided

I often go inside the bank to make deposits and notice many ink pens laying around for people to use. I have asked the teller if I can have a pen and they have never turn me down. I have never taken the pen without asking. Gathering up my pens, I noticed I had quite a collection. One night at church we discussed the pens. Some had the opinion, that it is ‘just a pen’ no one cares if you just take it. Others felt that taking ‘just a pen’ without asking is stealing.

Taking small things that are not yours without asking is not integrity, it would be call stealing, not borrowing. Doing or saying things, without integrity, can cause us to slip and fall. We all make mistakes and when we do, the Lord gives us the power to forgive others and ourselves. I pray that we all can have the quality of being honest, morally upright, and an attitude of the Fruits of the Spirit not following the work of the flesh that causes us to slip and fall. God doesn’t like to see His children slip but to rise, walk in faith and victory. May your life be fill with integrity.

God bless
