One of the most important types of ministry in the nation would be a ministry to college students.  Jeanne Behm is involved in that type of ministry furthering God’s Kingdom to a large population of the Deaf and hard of hearing students at the National Technical Institute for the Deaf (NTID) in Rochester, New York.

Jeanne is a support for the deacon who is in charge of the bible studies for the Deaf.  She summarized, “It's nice to have a male support person along with myself as a female support person to help them grow in the Lord in all the issues they face in college.  We are encouraging / empowering students to take leadership roles on campus.  That is to set up a Christian ‘club.’  (There are so many different clubs but none are Christian for the deaf.)  It will be a good ‘club’ to be recognized on campus.  We have other people working on website ideas to promote fellowship and prayer.  This is the tip of the iceberg since my arrival last January (2009).  God's been good in bringing students of different backgrounds.  They are such an inspiration to me for each one is unique and special in God's eyes and I am learning that, too.”

Take a look at God’s faithfulness in expanding His Kingdom!  Jeanne describes her part in the ministry: “I take one student quite faithfully to our church on Sunday mornings and this student is rounding up some more students to ride with us, too.  We have one interpreter at our church. Our pastor is very good so far to meet the students' needs.  The church is growing and so are we. We experience His faithfulness.”

Jeanne’s prayer request: “Pray for students to perform well in their studies but above all, for their hearts to continue to love the Lord.”  Yes, let’s all do that faithfully!

I just wanted to say that there is NO ONE better to serve in this position! I have personally seen and witnessed God's hands upon Jeanne's life. I am so thankful that an inroad has been "built" to bring the Gospel to the deaf at NTID!!

Praying for you, Jeanne!!
