Plans must be made, because Holidays are coming, or annual events are up coming, or…or….or…. Yet stamina is nil. Me the nigh to 70 year old female minister – side kick to my hubby & filler of his blanks felt like that after 2011, when Calvary Deaf Church was finally after 13 years re-established and built!

Plans and expectations piled up especially during 2010….I was in charge of Southern California Women’s Retreat, involved with building a 10,000 sq. ft. building, planned an Israel trip for the end of the year, and in the middle of all that my 94 year old mother-in-law and 27 year old granddaughter, Trish moved in with us. Few months later Lorife with 3 kids in tow also moved into our 4-bedroom home. That was the year my Blood Pressure soared to 200/105. 2011 more events and I had a clavicle resection: We rejoiced when construction was finished, and when Tom & I celebrated our 50th Wedding Anniversary, and heartily thanked so many volunteers, and held a celebratory week-end – all just weeks apart.

Tom & I were able to take a 5-week break to restore our flesh. Of course we traveled 7 thousand miles visiting family and national sites. Soon after our return we women gathered a planned 2012. My goal was just to simplify 2012 and wait before the Lord. Hmmmm – after the whole time of flustering around via constructions and celebrations we needed to ‘Wait upon the Lord”. We STOPPED and waited and waited. I realized we had ministered & served others, but we ourselves needed that spiritual stroking, too. We just needed the Holy Spirit to do what ever each of us needed. Each woman is different. Each woman’s needs vary. We just stopped ‘plotting & planning’. We simply needed God! Just Him! We were so tired of projects this and that. We ourselves needed His nurturing.

But who could do that? Who would let the Lord do His work? What woman was yielded before the Lord to minister to us His Grace? Hence Cindy Dively’s name popped into my head.

The weekend Cindy came – she and just a few women gathered on Friday night and prayed. Cindy gave a simple devotion and we all ministered before the Lord individually. Saturday morning about 50 women gathered. Our topic was HOLY SPIRIT –YOU! Our objective was simple, we pooophed women just wanted whatever the Holy Spirit wanted to give us…we’d take it. We just didn’t dictate an emphasis of any kind. Just YOU, Lord, just YOU!

Cindy has already cited her experience and I’ll not repeat those events, however we women were just hungry to absorb. Not only we of Calvary Deaf Church, but from other churches just wanted to realize the Holy Spirit! A couple of months have passed and life is moving on and memories fade, but the impact of that weekend is memorable! Saturday and Sunday we experienced a move of the Spirit, simply because women reached into air and accessed Heaven! We each purposed to reach into the Holy Spirit and get our blessings ‘right-now’. Cindy sign sang ‘It’s up to you’. Visions of the Holy Spirit being golden resting on each person in the room happened. The blessed Holy Spirit manifested diversely on Saturday. Women Sunday went into their churches the next day and spread the blessing into them. We’ve had several reports.

Cindy ministered Sunday morning, also, but the power of God moved so quickly that it took four ministers to work simultaneously among the people. The prophetic word moved forward rapidly as the whole congregation reached to grasp His blessings that were pouring over & into their lives.

We do so appreciate people of God who simply want ‘Holy Spirit-YOU’ and are willing to let HIM happen in the services without a personal agenda of their own. We Praise the Lord of His work in deaf ministries. Praise the Lord for His touch upon each one in deaf ministries. That one day all the deaf will hear the Words of His Book. One day we shall gather before Him and remember how He journeyed with us through every project, every situation, every life’s drama and brought us safely to bow at the Father’s feet – we each will actually see His workings in our lives. I so look forward to being with each of you – many I know and many I don’t….yet we in one accord will Praise HIM who redeemed us by His Grace.

News

http://www.nfdeaf.com/1/post/2012/04/post-title-click-and-type-to-edit5.html

http://www.nfdeaf.com/1/post/2012/04/post-title-click-and-type-to-edit5.html#comments

Uncategorized

Deaf Divelys Digest Spring 2012Psalm 127:1 Unless the Lord builds a house, the work of the builders is wasted. Unless the Lord protects a city, guarding it with sentries will do no good. This will be a time for strategic, intentional prayer for the meetings of the General Council, the City of Phoenix and the Assemblies of God Fellowship at large. For those who are unable to attend, the prayer service will be live-streamed.

"We believe this is a pivotal time for the Assemblies of God," states John Maempa, director of the National Prayer Center. "Many people have been in prayer over the past few months and we believe it is important to devote a special time of strategic prayer and intercession on July 31 to seek God's blessing, favor and direction as we gather for these important meetings."

The prayer gathering will be conducted along the line of a concert of prayer with specific prayer emphases led by various participants. "We believe that as a result of this focused time of prayer, we will see God's hand move in powerful ways," states Maempa. "Our prayer is that General Council will be more than a time of meeting together for business, fellowship and worship, but a time when God will move sovereignly among us."

Each aspect of the meetings, beginning with the Influence Conference through the children's and youth events, business sessions and evening rallies, will be covered in prayer. Also, special prayer focus will be given to ministries within the City of Phoenix as youth are involved in Ambassadors in Mission (AIM) outreaches and as Convoy of Hope ministers to needs within the city. Specific focus also will be given to the ministry of the Assemblies of God Fellowship nationally and globally.

"The Assemblies of God is uniquely positioned to have an impact on the Church and culture in unprecedented ways," Maempa adds. Exciting, dynamic initiatives in ministry and ministry resources will be shared during the Council week.

The National Prayer Center has been working closely with Saeed Hosseini, minister of prayer at Phoenix First Assembly, to organize this prayer gathering. The Prayer Pavilion of Light, a beautiful glass and steel structure at the base of a mountain overlooking the city of Phoenix, will provide a beautiful setting for the prayer gathering. At night, the glass panels glow with changing hues of color that can be seen across the city. Accommodating more than 200 people, the pavilion is always open and accessible for those who want to spend time in prayer.

"We are pleased to welcome to the Phoenix Prayer Pavilion of Light at Prayer Mountain all who can attend the pre-Council prayer service," states Hosseini. "We are anticipating a great move of God and are trusting that this prayer gathering will pave the way for all He has to offer for this year's entire General Council."

This Week in AG History - 1913

http://www.nfdeaf.com/1/post/2011/07/this-week-in-ag-history-1913.html

http://www.nfdeaf.com/1/post/2011/07/this-week-in-ag-history-1913.html#comments

Uncategorized

The Pentecostal Evangel, the official magazine of the Assemblies of God, is 98 years old today.
